XL Bully Attack On Woman In Lancashire ‘Stopped With Machete’
It’s a good job that there’s such an overlap between areas full of XL Bullies and machete-owning scallies, because one of the latter just saved a woman’s life when an XL Bully went on the rampage in Fleetwood, Lancashire.
As reported by the BBC, a woman in her 40s was treated in hospital for serious injuries after the attack which happened in the early evening of Thursday last week.
Witnesses described how a number of people attempted to help after the dog escaped from a back door and attacked the woman, who is believed to be related to its owner.
Some guy came running over with a machete and hacked at the XL Bully until it left the woman alone, leaving it ‘severely wounded’ before Lancashire Police turned up to finish the job and destroy the dog.
Eyewitness Georgina Thomas, 39, (below) said the dog was “hanging off” the woman’s arm as the man began “hacking” at it.

She said she spoke to the man afterwards and that he was upset about wounding the dog, but she said she believed he had “saved lives”.
She said: “There was a hell of a lot of kids playing in the street at the time. With that dog being on the run he’s only done what anyone would have done.”
She described how she and other neighbours took the heavily-bleeding woman to safety and reassured her until paramedics turned up.
“I think it’s put me off dogs forever, to be honest. It was just devastating. I’ve never seen anything like that in my life before and it traumatised me and my kids.”
Apparently this dog never left the address without a muzzle, and it was legally owned.
The victim’s family released a statement thanking the man with the machete for doing “what needed to be done”, as well as other residents who intervened.
They said: “It was both courageous and heartbreaking for him to have to do what he did.
They said the dog was named Kilo and “was very loved by all who knew him and we are all shocked and devastated by this whole ordeal”.

Big up to this machete-wielding hero, whoever he is. Almost certainly saved at least one life with his actions, even if he does feel terrible about having to slash and stab at a dog (who wouldn’t?). Clearly we need more good guys with machetes on our streets, and not fewer XL bullies?
Respect also to all the other members of the public who tried to help this woman; apparently there were quite a few who got involved. The real solution though may be to not own an XL Bully in the first place. Way too many of these over the last few years, even since the XL Bully ban came in.
We just can’t trust their idiot owners to keep their dogs muzzled and/or kept securely inside the home, can we?
