WWE Star Chelsea Green Quits Social Media Following Backlash To Hulk Hogan Tribute Tweet

WWE wrestler Chelsea Green has quit social media after receiving a ridiculous amount of backlash for paying tribute to Hulk Hogan in a Tweet following his death last week.

Apparently, wrestling fans/social media users were not happy with Chelsea Green glossing over the fact that Hulk Hogan made some racist comments many years ago, and as such, did not deserve to have nice things said about him in death. Here’s the Tweet from Chelsea that got so many of these losers riled up:

How anyone could get wound up by that is beyond me, but apparently Chelsea received so much abuse, and even death threats, that she deleted the Tweet and then posted another Tweet apologising for any offence she caused and announcing she was stepping back from social media:

How sad is that? What makes it even weirder is that every other wrestler/wrestling legend including The Rock, Sting, Ric Flair and Triple H have Tweeted out tributes to Hulk Hogan, and they don’t seem to be receiving nearly as much grief. Maybe it’s easier to have a go at Chelsea Green for some reason?

Indeed, there’s a depressing amount of people on social media who seem to be celebrating Hulk Hogan’s death. The WWE legend was secretly filmed using racial slurs in 2015 after discovering his daughter had slept with a black guy. Which is obviously completely out of order, but not a reason to abuse someone for paying tribute to the man in death.

In the video, Hogan said ”I guess we’re all a little racist’ and repeated the phrase ‘f***ing n******’ several times.

Anyway, probably a smart move for Chelsea Green to step away from social media for a while, since her feed is filled with so many idiots who have nothing better to do. Imagine being a successful, well-paid athlete and pro wrestler who has essentially tweeted ‘RIP’ about a legend of your industry, only to have a bunch of abusive, wrestling incels lecture you on morality? It’s actually annoying that she even apologised for it.

Oh well, let’s hope it hasn’t got her feeling too down.

Meanwhile, a whole bunch of WWE wrestlers were on stage on Smackdown for 10-bell salute to the Hulkster. RIP:
