UK Woman Who Travelled To Florida Seeking A ‘Violent Death’ Filmed Video With Alleged Killer
We have some new details on the suicidal British woman who traveled to Florida with the alleged intention of being “tortured” and meeting a violent death, which she had arranged on a fetish site with a local man.
Dwain Hall, 53, is accused of murdering 32-year-old Sonia Exelby, after picking her up at the airport in Gainesville, Florida, on October 10, 2025, and taking her to a rented Airbnb.
At the Airbnb, Hall allegedly had sex with Sonia and recorded a video showing her with several cuts and bruises to her face, neck and breasts. In the video, Sonia appears hesitant and distressed, while Hall is heard asking her for consent to be stabbed.
In the footage, which police obtained from Hall’s phone following his arrest, Sonia explains why she wants to be killed, saying: “Because I’m an awful person.
“I’ve crushed everyone who ever loved me.”
Police say Sonia, who suffered from severe mental health issues, becomes ’emotional’ in the video and says she wants to be stabbed.
Hall asks her: “This is how you wanted to die, right? You wanted to be beaten and made to suffer because you’re such a piece of s***.”
Sonia replies: “I need to be beaten and suffer cause I’m such a piece of s***.”
Hall: “Good, good.”
Sonia had sent messages to a friend on Discord the same day the video was recorded, admitting she had second thoughts of dying. She wrote: “He made it clear there was no way out unless I shoot him. I was questioning it last night. I can’t kill anyone.”
“I’m so, so scared. I’m so broken and in so much pain. I thought he’d do it quick and not give my mind time to stew.”
Hall’s statements in police interviews have been ‘inconsistent’, though he says Sonia wanted him to ‘use’ her so the death wasn’t a ‘burden to him’.
He said that the pair had sex multiple times in the Airbnb, with the affidavit stating: “Hall knew Exelby suffered from severe mental illness and was suicidal. He claimed that he wanted to help Exelby and did not want her to die, but his actions show differently.”
After her disappearance was communicated to Florida police by UK authorities, Sonia’s body was discovered in a shallow grave in a wooded area in Marion Oaks, Florida, and an autopsy determined she died from four stab wounds.
Hall has been charged with first-degree murder, kidnapping, credit card fraud, and unlawful use of a communication device. He has been denied bail and has pleaded not guilty. Expect him to either spend the rest of his life in prison or be given the death penalty, which all thing considered, is no less than what he deserves.
