Trailer Park Boys Actor Mike Smith Charged With Sexual Assault
Actor Mike Smith, best known for playing the character Bubbles on Trailer Park Boys, has been charged with sexual assault.
Smith, 53, was charged by Halifax Regional Police this past October for an assault that is alleged to have occurred in December 2017, but as of now there’s no additional details available.
Trailer Park Boys Inc., which produces the comedy show, released a statement on Friday that said Smith had stepped away from his role as the managing director of the company.
It reads: “We are aware of the allegation concerning Mike Smith dating back to 2017 and take such matters seriously. We recognize how difficult an allegation of this nature is for all involved. Out of respect for the legal process, we will not comment further on the case.”

It’s not the first time Smith has been in trouble with the law. Back in 2016, he was arrested and charged with misdemeanor domestic battery in Los Angeles over an alleged incident involving a woman at a Hollywood hotel.
A month later the charges were dropped, but it sounds like he’s really in a pickle this time as he’s due in court this Monday.
Trailer Park Boys is one of Nova Scotia’s most popular exports, with Smith’s character Bubbles known as a lovable guy who wears funny glasses and lives in a shed with kittens. Production recently finished on the 13th season with a planned release timed to the show’s 25th anniversary in spring 2026.
Better hope he’s got a telly in his cell, from the sounds of it.
