Tommy Robinson Released On Bail Following Arrest For St. Pancras Assault On 64-Year-Old Man
Tommy Robinson has called on police to ‘release the footage’ after insisting that he was acting in self-defence when he knocked out a 64-year-old man at St. Pancras station in London the other week.
Tommy was arrested at Luton Airport on Monday evening but has been released on police bail until 2 September while enquiries continue. He immediately put out a message on social media asking the Metropolitan Police to release CCTV footage of the incident:

He also put out Tweets claiming he was ‘protected by angels’ and plugging his Union Jack-emblazoned baseball caps (naturally). He also claimed he had been investigated for three social media posts by the Metropolitan Police.
Tommy clarified that he had flown out to Tenerife on a pre-booked trip and that he told police where he was as well as the date of his return.
His victim, who Robinson claims was attempting to attack him and insists the CCTV evidence will prove this, was taken to hospital with ‘serious injuries’ and was discharged last Wednesday.

So I guess it’s up to the Met to now decide whether to release the footage to the public, though I doubt they will and certainly not before the investigation into the incident is closed. Still, these things have a way of ending up on the internet regardless, so watch this space.
Could very well be that it played out the way Tommy says it did, in which case he may be off the hook on this one. If he truly had no choice but to defend himself against an incoming 64-year-old physical threat, then that’s fair enough. There’s no shortage of people in the UK who want to punch Tommy’s lights out, after all. Release the footage, Met Police/guy in the CCTV control room who secretly made a copy! The people want to see the truth for themselves.
