Tim Westwood Charged With Four Counts Of Rape And Multiple Counts Of Sexual And Indecent Assault

Around five years ago, people began sharing stories of 68-year-old Tim Westwood creeping on 18-year-old students at university campuses around the UK, and then more stories began coming to light, until it resulted in a joint investigation by the BBC & The Guardian into multiple counts of sexual and indecent assault by the legendary hip hop DJ.

Sure enough, Westwood has now been charged with four counts of rape, nine counts of indecent assault and two counts of sexual assault, taking place between 1983 – 2016.

Specifically, the DJ is charged with indecently assaulting a 17-year-old girl in Fulham, London, in 1983 and indecently assaulting a woman in her 20s in Vauxhall in 1986.

Between 1995 and 1996, he is charged with raping and indecently assaulting another 17-year-old.

The former Pimp my Ride presenter is alleged to have raped and indecently assaulted a woman aged 17 to 18 between 2000 and 2001 and raped a woman in her 20s in 2010 – both also in London.

He is further accused of sexually assaulting a woman in her 20s in Stroud, Gloucestershire, in 2010 and sexually assaulting another woman in her 20s in Finchley, London, in 2016.

Westwood will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday, November 10 to face the charges. Have to say – it’s not looking good for the Big Dawg. The initial allegations around him were creepy but technically legal, but when that evolves into straight up sexual assault/misconduct, then the only place for you is behind bars.

Obviously it’s important to remember that he’s not been found guilty at this point, but when there’s this many charges and this many victims coming out and saying the same thing, it’s hard to see anything other than jail time in Westwood’s future. Wonder if the hip hop heads will be cool with him in prison because he’s a “supporter of the culture” or whether they’ll beat him up because he’s a rapist? I guess that remains to be seen.
