The First Trailer For ‘The Naked Gun’ Reboot, Starring Liam Neeson, Is Finally Here
The Naked Gun is one of the greatest comedy franchises ever and definitely not in need of a reboot, but if it absolutely HAS to be remade, then I can’t really think of anyone better than Liam Neeson to take on the role of Lieutenant Frank Debin in place of the late, great Leslie Nielsen.
Here’s a look at the first trailer:

You know what? That actually looks fun. Seems like they’ve nailed the tone of the original, and I think we all appreciate that OJ gag at the end there. The absurdly long line-up of cops all crying over pictures of their dead parents is just so true to the spirit of Naked Gun too.
I’m sure there’ll also be a gag in there about how Liam Neeson is such a similar sounding name to Leslie Nielsen, and plenty more callbacks to the original.
Are we finally getting a reboot of an old classic that’s actually going to work? Let’s hope so. Movie audiences need a laugh more than ever these days so here’s hoping this one delivers.
