Starbucks Employee Fired For Writing Message On Cup After Customer Asked For ‘Charlie Kirk Drink’
There’s something of a trend happening in America right now where people are ordering Charlie Kirk’s favourite drink at Starbucks – a mint majesty with two honeys. Which is apparently infuriating to the more liberal-minded Starbucks barista, of which there are many.
Sure enough, one Starbucks employee over in Middletown, Ohio, has been terminated this week after writing a ‘hate message’ on a customer’s drink when they ordered the Charlie Kirk special.
The employee wrote ‘racists fav drink’ on the order of customer Autumn Perkins, and Autumn has now told Fox News that she thinks the sacking is fully justified.
She said: “It’s time for people to stop this nonsense.
“I would agree that people should be fired if they’re doing something like this. Actions have repercussions.
“I feel like Charlie stood for respect — we don’t have to agree on everything. We can disagree on a lot of things, but we respect each other.
“We can’t communicate and grow if we’re disrespecting each other.”
Starbucks issued a statement explaining why the employee lost their job, saying: “Writing this on a cup is unacceptable, and we have clear policies that prohibit negative messages to help preserve a welcoming environment. This Starbucks location is licensed and operated by Kroger. We understand that this associate was terminated by Kroger.”
That’s not good enough for Autumn, however, who’s so horrified by the experience that she will never return to Starbucks ever again.
She said: “I don’t intend to spend another penny at Starbucks — and as far as I’m concerned, neither will my children or anybody else in my family who will listen to me.”
Bit of an overreaction really. They immediately sacked the offending worker – what else do you want them to do? In fact the coffee giant even issued a company-wide statement instructing employees to honour every order of the Charlie Kirk drink and to even write Charlie Kirk’s name on the order if that’s what the customer wants. What else do you want, Autumn? Blood?!
Bit of a dumb situation really, but that’s America for you.
