Snoop Dogg Is Featuring Same-Sex Couples In His Children’s Series “Doggyland”

Just a couple months after landing himself in hot water with the LGBTQ+ community for complaining about same-sex couples in children’s movies, Snoop Dogg is set to put some in his own upcoming children’s TV series.

The rapper teamed up with GLAAD – a ‘media monitoring’ organisation that supports LGBTQ youth – for a promotional chat in which he explained why he feels it’s necessary to represent gay couples in his animated kids’ show, “Doggyland.”

Snoop says:  “It’s a beautiful thing that kids can have parents of all walks and be shown love, to be taught what love is…being able to have parents from all walks of life, whether it be two fathers, two mothers, whatever it is, love is the key.”

As you may recall, Snoop sparked controversy back in August when he said he was forced to endure questions from his baffled grandson when watching Disney’s “Lightyear” at the cinema.

At the time, Snoop said the following: “What you see is what you see, and they’re putting it everywhere. I didn’t come in for this s***. I just came to watch the goddamn movie.”

“My grandson, in the middle of the movie is like, ‘Papa Snoop? How she have a baby with a woman? She’s a woman!’”

“I’m like, scared to go to the movies. Y’all throwing me in the middle of s*** that I don’t have an answer for.”

“It threw me for a loop,. I’m like, ‘What part of the movie was this?’ These are kids. We have to show that at this age? They’re going to ask questions. I don’t have the answer.”

Well, seems like Snoop has had a change of heart on the topic. I wonder why, though? It would seem that he’s been told to clean up his PR game after already catching enough flak for coming out as a Trump supporter, without then also criticising gay couples in children’s cartoons. I mean, he wouldn’t want to be cancelled at this stage of his life and career, would he?

In fairness, you can’t really expect a 90s gangster rapper to be the most “progressive” guy on the planet when it comes to same-sex couples in children’s movies, but it looks as though Snoop has not only done a complete U-turn in his views but is also now contributing to the LGBTQ representation himself. That’s the game, I suppose.
