‘Slender Man’ Stabber Told Officers ‘Just Google My Name’ During Arrest
A young woman convicted in the Slender Man stabbing case has been captured by police after they found her sleeping on the street following her escape from a ‘secure’ group home.
We first wrote about Morgan Geyser, 23, way back in 2014. She was 12 years old at the time, and had stabbed one of her friends 19 times in order to please The Slender Man, which is a creepy internet meme that has existed since around 2009.
Geyser and her friend Anissa Weier, also 12, invited their friend over for a sleepover then lured her into the woods in Waukesha, Wisconsin, for a game of hide and seek, only to brutally stab her 19 times. Amazingly, the victim survived following a 6-hour emergency surgery, as the girls missed a major artery near her heart by a millimetre.
She managed to crawl out of the woods to a nearby road, where a passing cyclist spotted her and called an ambulance and the police.

The girls claimed that they were trying to become ‘proxies’ of The Slender Man, and carried out the attack in order to please him. Following the slaying they planned to run away to The Slender Man’s forest mansion.
Geyser was found not guilty by reason of mental disease and was sentenced to up to 40 years in a psychiatric institution (Weier got 25 years). She has been there ever since, until last Saturday (Nov 22) when she cut off her GPS bracelet and ran off.
She and a male accomplice made it four hours away to Posen, Illinois, where police responded to a report the next day of a man and woman loitering/sleeping behind a truck stop building.
Geyser initially gave officers a false name, but when pressed, said she didn’t want to tell them who she was because she had “done something really bad“.
She then suggested that the officers could “just Google” her name, and sure enough, they did and promptly arrested her. She will now face escape charges.

The Slender Man meme first came into life in 2009 on the Something Awful website. It was originally used as a way to insert creepy looking men into the backgrounds of posters/photographs but soon developed its own mythology; a faceless, supernatural entity that kidnapped children.
Apparently in order to join The Slender Man’s realm, it’s necessary for a user to kill someone, which is exactly why these girls carried out the attempted murder. They had their backpacks packed and were found walking near an interstate highway on their way to join him following the attack. Geyser had said that she saw The Slender Man in her dreams and that he watched her constantly, read her mind and could teleport to wherever she is.
In the original court case, Geyser was described as ‘a fragile person’ with a long history of delusions that made her a risk to others.

For what it’s worth, she did apologise to the victim, Bella Leutner, as she was sentenced.
Geyser said: ‘I just want to let Bella and her family know that I’m sorry and I hope she’s doing well.’
The other girl, Anissa Weier, was sentenced to to 25 years in a mental institution, but no one’s heard a peep since. Let’s hope it stays that way for the both of them.
