Reform MP Apologises After Saying Adverts Full Of Black People ‘Drive Me Mad’
Reform UK MP Sarah Pochin has apologised after saying “it drives me mad when I see adverts full of black people, full of Asian people”.
The Reform UK member was responding to a Talk TV caller about the (some might say) disproportionately large number of non-white actors in British adverts, when she said the following:
Sarah Pochin MP: “It drives me mad seeing adverts full of black and Asian people.”

Not exactly the sort of the thing you should be saying when you’re trying to convince everyone your party isn’t racist, is it? Surely Pochin could have made her point without sounding so blatantly racist, but I suppose the mask slipped and so she was forced to issue this apology:
As you can tell from that apology, she’s doubled down on the point she was making and is only sorry for the way she phrased it. Unfortunately for her, that’s the only thing people are going to remember from her interview and it’s not a good look for a party that insists they ‘don’t care about skin colour.’
Naturally, Labour have jumped on Pochin’s comments and called on Reform UK leader Nigel Farage to condemn them – something that’s yet to happen.
Labour Party chairwoman Anna Turley said: “It’s astonishing that a senior Reform MP is spending her time counting the numbers of people with a different skin colour to her on TV adverts.
“Defining British people by the colour of their skin is completely unacceptable and shows once again that Reform are more interested in dividing our country than uniting it.
“Nigel Farage needs to condemn this now, and urgently clarify whether Sarah Pochin’s views on race are welcome in his party.”
Any update on Reform recruiting Derek Chisora to run as their mayoral candidate for London?
