Quentin Tarantino Hates Paul Dano As An Actor, Calls Him A “Weak, Weak, Uninteresting Guy”
Did Paul Dano have sex with Quentin Tarantino’s mum or something? The legendary filmmaker has ripped into the Prisoners/The Batman/There Will Be Blood actor in a recent rundown of his Top 20 Movies Of the 21st Century (included at the end of this blog), and was surprisingly harsh about him.
Focusing particularly on There Will Be Blood, Tarantino not only said he didn’t like Dano’s performance, he also calls him “weak sauce” and “the weakest f—ing actor in the SAG [Screen Actors Guild].” He claims Dano is the sole reason keeping There Will Be Blood from being the greatest film of the 21st century.
Here’s the full quote:
Obviously everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but this is pretty shocking to read as Dano has more than established himself as a solid actor in films like Little Miss Sunshine, Prisoners, The Batman and more. He’s worked with Steven Spielberg, Denis Villeneuve, Matt Reeves, Bong Joon Ho, Ridley Scott, Steve McQueen, Guillermo del Toro, the list goes on. In fact it seems like Tarantino is one of very few big directors he hasn’t worked with in his career.
Then again, you might say Tarantino has a peculiar taste in movies, so maybe we shouldn’t read too much into his. Here’s his Top 20 of the 21st century in full:
