Prison Officer Filmed Playing FIFA With Inmate In His Cell
A prison officer has been filmed playing FIFA with an inmate in his cell, which is definitely the least shocking thing a prison guard has been caught doing recently in the UK.
The officer took on the prisoner on his Playstation while another officer stood there watching, and another inmate filmed the whole thing on his phone, which could mean there were at least a couple of rule breaches going on.
The jail itself has not been identified but the Ministry of Justice is investigating, having already successfully had the clip and social media account removed from TikTok (after being tipped off by The Sun, no less).
The Ministry of Justice said: “We removed these posts immediately and are investigating.
“Those who break prison rules will be punished and can face extra time behind bars.”
There’s some debate over whether the guard actually did anything wrong, as many believe that fostering these types of relationships with inmates is actually beneficial to the prison system.
Shadow Justice Secretary Robert Jenrick certainly doesn’t think so, though: “Prison is supposed to be for punishment.
“It’s not a holiday camp.
“Something is badly wrong when female officers are sleeping with inmates and male officers are playing FIFA in their cells.
“Why would a criminal fear going to prison any more?”
Fair point. Some might say it’s shocking enough that prisoners could have Playstations in their cells in the first place, let alone have gaming sessions with the prison guards. Then again, is it really so bad for guards to have good rapport with prisoners? It’s not like they’re playing with a ‘winner gets to go home early’ stipulation, is it? Although that would definitely make things more interesting.
Of course this wouldn’t be an issue if the moron with the phone hadn’t filmed the whole thing and put it on TikTok. There’s always one dumb@rse who has to ruin the fun for everybody.
