Plus-Size Passenger Confronts Slightly More Plus-Size Passenger For Taking Up The Arm Rest During Their Flight
It’s got to be tough being a plus-size passenger on a plane. From the moment you board, you already know that every single person is hoping and praying you won’t be sitting next to them. Whoever you do sit next to is going to let out the most the most exasperated sigh of frustration upon realising that their personal space is about to be eaten up by your arm flab and love handles. You’re literally the most hated person on the plane on account of taking up more space than everyone else.
So what happens when one plus-size passenger sits next to another plus-size passenger? Sounds like a recipe for absolute disaster. Here’s how it played out on a recent Delta Airlines flight in a clip that has since gone viral:

Well, sounds like the guy in blue arrived second, saw the even larger guy in the middle seat was overflowing into his own seat, and forced his arm into his own space to reclaim territory. Can’t say I blame him, to be honest. The guy in pink then starts filming and being completely insufferable and I’m guessing it’s the sort of controversy he stirs up regularly when out and about.
At the same time, he is in the middle seat, and I think any sensible person would agree that the middle seat should get both arm rests. Window and aisle get one arm rest. Those are the (unspoken) rules. So yeah, as much as I’m #TeamBlueShirt, have to side with pink on that one.
In the end, a flight attendant offered air miles to a smaller, female passenger on the opposite side to swap seats, and she did. Pink shirt also received some air miles for his trouble. Everyone goes home happy, I think.
