Miss Universe Contestants Storm Out After Judge Calls Miss Mexico ‘Dumb’

There’s been a mass walkout at the Miss Universe event in Bangkok, Thailand, after a judge singled out Miss Mexico, asked her to stand up, berated her in front of everyone, and called her ‘dumb’.

Fair play to the rest of the girls – they all got up and walked out and made the judge look very stupid in the process:

Full context: apparently this judge/director, Nawat Itsaragrisi, had asked the girls to make posts on social media promoting Thailand and the contest. This was completely unrelated to the contest itself and the “prize” was a private dinner with this judge. Miss Mexico, Fátima Bosch, consulted with her management back in Mexico and they told her that since this was NOT part of the actual contest she did not have to participate if she wasn’t comfortable with it. She did not, and this judge was so offended he decided to give her a dressing down in front of everyone.

As we saw, it completely backfired in his face and then a video of him crying like a little b**** and apologising started doing the rounds:

The best part about the whole thing is that he really thought he was flexing his power by ordering security to escort Miss Mexico out of the building, but absolutely nobody was impressed or intimidated by that because they all got up and walked out anyway. Talk about a deflated ego!

I know Miss Universe contestants have a reputation for being “dumb” and that’s fun to joke about, but in reality a lot of them are well-spoken and well-travelled women who speak multiple languages. So to have a guy who can barely string a sentence together in English call her a “dumb-head” must’ve been pretty irksome. Seems he’s going to have to take his own advice about showing respect to others, from now on.
