Man Asks To Be Deported To Somalia ‘Because It’s Safe Than Nuneaton’
There’s been a sizable uptick in anti-migrant tensions these last few weeks, to the point where even Filipino NHS nurses are being physically and verbally abused in public. Filipino NHS nurses! Is there a better ‘model minority’ in the UK?
In Nuneaton, the situation has become so dire that one asylum seeker who has been in England for 20 years has been asking the Home Office to deport him for the past five months.
As per Sky News, Yusuf recently had his right to work stripped after a ‘serious’ assault, and is hoping to leave the UK for his own safety.
Yusuf said: “This country is not safe, but my country (Somalia) is now safe. I want to go back.”

Somalia was in the midst of a civil when Yusuf initially left 20 years ago. Though conflict is still ongoing, Yusuf believes he’d be safer there than in Nuneaton.
I’m not sure how true that is, but his point was kind of assisted later in the segment, when Sky News was speaking to another local. British businessman Zahin was chatting with the reporter on-camera when he was confronted and verbally abused by a bunch of racist girls:
Poor man was just being interviewed by @SkyNews and watch thehorrific abuse he got from women (they seem drunk) shouting “are country ..raping are kids”
Horrible. He’s a British citizen. An innocent man just trying to say how he feels… pic.twitter.com/jmyuZHs3yv

One girl says: ‘That’s the issue, having you in our country. You’re raping our kids… this is our country, how about we come to your country?’
I mean, you can feel however you like about the migrant or asylum situation, but that is just pure, unadulterated racism for which there is no excuse. What’s wrong with these people?
Nuneaton used to have just a handful of asylum seekers, but that number has shot up in recent years. Anti-migrant sentiment in the area increased after two men, believed to be Afghan asylum seekers, were charged with the alleged rape of a 12-year-old girl.
Unfortunately, the crimes of these bad apples in the UK have a terrible affect on regular, law-abiding Brits like Zahin, who simply shares a skin tone with them. Mental to see this sort of thing play out in 2025, and scary to think that it’s going to get even worse. Maybe Somalia isn’t such a bad shout after all?
