Madeleine McCann’s Sister Says ‘Stalker’ Sent Her ‘Childhood Memories She’d Had’

The Polish girl who has been claiming to be Madeleine McCann for the last 3 years is currently in court charged with stalking Gerry & Kate McCann, and it really is mental to hear the lengths at which this girl went to convince the McCanns that she was their long lost daughter.

At Leicester Crown Court this week, Maddie’s sister Amelie McCann told how Julia Wandelt sent her letters and DMs and edited photographs to make herself look more like Madeleine.

Amelie said the ‘creepy’ messages from Wandelt made her feel ‘uncomfortable’ and she blocked her on ‘quite a few’ social media platforms.

The messages included requests for a DNA test and ‘memories’ from their childhood such as playing Ring-A-Ring-A-Roses with other children. Imagine how freaked out Amelie must have been reading all that?

Amelie said she felt the messages from Wandelt, 24, were ‘trying to play with [her] emotions’.

She added the messages had a ‘sound of desperation’ which put ‘a lot of stress’ on her.

Indeed, Wandelt allegedly sent Amelie a letter that told her she was her ‘last hope’, and contained (photoshopped) pictures of the two of them.

Amelie said: ‘I didn’t like it, it made me feel very uncomfortable and I’m not sure if it was this one but she clearly altered or edited the pictures to make it look more like her, which is quite disturbing.

‘It was quite distressing to see the messages. As you can see, it’s a long message and there’s a sound of desperation in her message which puts quite a lot of stress on me.

‘I felt uncomfortable about it because I don’t want to receive messages like that.

‘It is quite disturbing that she’s coming up with these supposed memories even though she’s not Madeleine.’

Amelie also clarified that she declined to do a DNA test with Wandelt to prove they were related because she ‘always knew she wasn’t Madeleine.’ Fair enough really.

Julia Wandelt

Wandelt also reached out to her on LinkedIn, which is how you know she’s really f****d up in the head.

Amelie said: ‘I thought that was quite extreme reaching out to me on a job platform.’

Wandelt, who is on trial alongside 61-year-old Karen Spragg, is accused of turning up at the McCanns’ family home and signing a letter addressed to them as Madeleine. I suppose that was the final straw that prompted the McCanns to take her to court, which is seemingly the only way they were ever going to get this lunatic to stop contacting them.

At one point during court proceedings, as Kate McCann gave evidence, Wandelt cried out: ‘Why are you doing this to me?’

Does Julia Wandelt legitimately think she’s Madeleine McCann, even after DNA tests and her own parents’ testimonies proved otherwise? Certainly sounds like it’s an issue far beyond just attention-seeking at this point.

Who knows – maybe being convicted and jailed is what needs to happen to finally knock some sense into this girl. Here’s hoping she gets the help she needs while we continue to spend millions and come up with nothing substantial in the search for Madeleine McCann.
