Jussie Smollett Has A Documentary Coming Out Where He Slams Everybody Who Believes He Was Lying About ‘Hate Crime’

You’re not going to believe this but Jussie Smollett is still on a campaign to convince everyone that the blatantly staged hate crime against him was real, and is now coming out with a documentary where he rips into the Chicago police, the mayor of Chicago, and everybody who believes he was lying about it.

Just to recap: back in January 2019, ‘Empire’ actor Smollett claimed that he been attacked in downtown Chicago by two white men in MAGA hats, equipped with a bottle of bleach and a rope they had fashioned into a noose.

According to Jussie, they shouted racist and homophobic slurs at him including ‘this is MAGA country’, then beat him up, poured bleach on him, put the noose around his neck, and left him to die in the middle of the street. The Subway sandwich he was carrying remained unharmed.

Some questioned the story; after all, downtown Chicago at 2AM is an unlikely place to find two white dudes in MAGA hats, and there was no CCTV footage of the incident, or any evidence at all really. He had been roughed up though, so what gives?

The majority of media outlets jumped on the story as an example of Trump’s America and how it had galvanised hate towards minorities. Jussie even went on TV claiming he was the “gay Tupac” because he had “fought the f*** back”, and suggested that anyone doubting his story was a racist.

Well, police ended up arresting two black dudes (brothers, in fact) who were seen in the area at the time of the attack, and were caught on a shop’s CCTV buying the noose that ended up around Jussie’s neck. The suspects eventually told police that Jussie had PAID them to carry out the attack on him, and what’s more they had even rehearsed the whole scene in the days prior. Whoops.

These are the two brothers – not exactly the KKK are they?

In the end, Jussie Smollett was found guilty of staging a hate crime against himself (at which point he had an embarrassing meltdown in court) and was sentenced to 150 days in prison, although he was promptly released after going on hunger strike for 6 days. How’s that for celebrity privilege eh?

Fast forward to 2025, and Jussie Smollett has now resurfaced with a Netflix documentary in which he is STILL banging on about being the victim of a hate crime and insists that he’s been telling the truth all along, even with the overwhelming evidence that he’s a big fat liar, including the aforementioned CCTV and testimonies from the very people he paid to ‘beat him up’.

In the doc, Smollett says: “I can’t sit and tell you exactly, beat by beat, what happened. I can only tell you what did not happen. And what did not happen is the story that’s been out there for almost seven years, that somehow I would have even a reason to do something as egregious as this.”

He adds: “The villains are the two people who assaulted me, the Chicago Police Department and, if I may be so brave, the mayor.”

Smollett says he’s on a mission to reboot his career as an actor, director and musician (please, no), but to do that he needs to convince everyone that his hate crime experience was 100% legit.

He says the ‘Chicago establishment’ conspired to frame him. Why would they do this? Well, he answered that question with two of his own questions, referencing the case of a Chicago police officer killing a black teenager, which prompted a federal judge to require the Chicago police to undertake dozens of reforms two days after Smollett reported being attacked.

Smollett says: “Could it be that they had just found out about the missing minutes and the missing tape from the murder of Laquan McDonald? Could it be that the mayor helped hide that? We’re living in a world where the higher-ups, their main mission, in order to do all of the underhanded things that they’re doing, is to distract us with the shiny object.”

Jesus Christ, can you believe this guy? He thinks it’s all been a vast conspiracy against him – a side character on the TV show ‘Empire’.

The documentary itself is titled ‘The Truth About Jussie Smollett?’, with a question mark, which is a nice touch from Netflix because they know as well as anyone that he’s completely full of sh1t.

Imagine – faking your own hate crime, getting caught, being convicted, getting pardoned after 6 days, and still acting like you’re the victim. We should actually be annoyed at Neflix for giving him a platform to continue spewing his BS, but I suppose it will make entertaining hate-watch, if nothing else.

The doc is out on Netflix on August 22.
