Four Brits Arrested For Thailand Robbery Where They Rammed US Lawyer Off His Bike & Stole His Luxury Watch
Is there a worse idea than going to Thailand to commit serious violent crimes? Surely it’s not worth the risk of being banged up in a Thai prison, as opposed to the comparatively lenient and more ‘comfortable’ time you’d serve back home.
Here’s the moment four British nationals rammed a US lawyer off his motorcycle in Phuket before stealing his luxury Audemars Piguet watch at gunpoint:
Hussain Meer, 26, Mir Wayne Carew, 25, Yanne Sarkawt, 25, and Malique Kai Walters, 27,
Do these people sound British? No they bloody well don’t because they’re NOT British.

It was far from the perfect crime, because within 24 hours, Hussain Meer, 26, Mir Wayne Carew, 25, Yanne Sarkawt, 25, and Malique Kai Walters, 27, had all been tracked down by police in Phuket. Here they are looking very sorry indeed at he time of their capture:

Police Major General Sinlert Sukum, head of Phuket Provincial Police, said: “As of now, there are four suspects. We are interrogating them to determine whether other persons were involved.
“They arrived in Thailand at different times as tourists. We are investigating their movements and have already located all vehicles used in the crime as well as other evidence.
“They were charged with jointly committing robbery. We are currently checking their backgrounds. So far, we have not found any similar incidents committed by them in other areas.
“All four of them are from the same country, but they did not confirm whether they knew each other before coming here or if they only met in Thailand.”
Their American victim, who lives in Geneva, Switzerland, said he was riding home from the Boat Avenue mall when he was attacked. He said:
“I had never seen any one of these people before in my life. This just comes to show that foreigners who are criminals should not be welcome in Thailand.”
“Unfortunately these foreigners come to Thailand to attack Thai people, to attack the tourists, and to ruin the reputation of Thailand, but Thai people are stronger than this.”
Big up the Thai police – they managed to not only arrest the suspects but also recover the stolen watch all within 24 hours of the robbery taking place. They had found the Ford Everest SUV abandoned in a rubber plantation, and then simply used CCTV to do the rest. If only it were that simple in London, eh? Oh wait, it really should be.
It turns out that one of the suspects, Malique Kai Walters, featured in hit UK drama Top Boy a few years back. Here he is in action playing a role he’s apparently not unfamiliar with in real life (scroll right on image):

Guessing the acting work must have dried up since then…
