Former Dulwich Pupil Says Farage Told Him: ‘That’s The Way Back To Africa’
Another former Dulwich College pupil has come forward to add to the list of bullying allegations against Nigel Farage – claiming a teenage Farage told him “that’s the way back to Africa.”
Yinka Bankole, who claims he had just started at the school when a 17-year-old Farage singled him out for abuse, felt compelled to speak out after the Reform UK leader tried to play down his behaviour as banter.
Farage told reporters that he had never been racist or antisemitic with “malice”.
However, when you read that Bankole was 9 and had just started at the school, and Farage was 17, it becomes even tougher to buy that as an excuse.
Bankole told The Guardian: “I went to the school for a year between 1980 and 1981, starting at a mere nine years of age. I was in the most junior class (JC) at the time, in a college that was so large, consisting of lower, middle and upper schools with an age range from nine to 18.
“My hardworking parents celebrated with pictures as proud parents would do when their child is so privileged to attend such a well-reputed educational institution.

“It took him a while, I recall, but one day Farage, and at least one other, spotted me in the lower-school playground. He was about 17 years old.
“He towered over me. ‘Where are you from?’ he asked. Within seconds of offering my rather confused and sputtering answers, he had a clear response: ‘That’s the way back to Africa,’ with an accompanying hand gesture pointing towards a place far away.”
Bankole, 54, an engineer, said Farage “would wait at the lower-school gate, where I was dropped off for school, so as to repeat the vulgarity”.
Previously, Farage had pointed out that all this alleged behaviour would have taken place 40 years ago and so he barely remembers it, but naturally, the victims find it harder to forget. The only thing I do wonder about is why it took so long for these stories to come out, but I guess there’s no better time as far as Farage’s political opponents are concerned, now that Reform UK actually have a shot at winning the next General Election.
Then again, would anyone who’s already decided to vote for Farage and Reform change their minds based on this information? I mean, it’s hardly shocking news, is it? I guess we’ll have to wait and see how it pans out in 2029.
Meanwhile, Reform UK have just recorded the largest ever single donation from a living person in UK political history. From a guy based in Thailand, funnily enough.
