Finnish Second League Team FC Haka Fans Set Their Stadium On Fire After They Were Relegated
If you thought your football team was in the mud right now, spare a thought for second division Finnish team FC Haka.
FC Haka is one of Finland’s oldest and biggest clubs, but after recently being relegated from Veikkausliiga – the premier division of Finnish men’s football – their fans were so incensed that they burnt down the damn stadium:

I mean, Burnley would have their stadium burnt down every other year if their fans were this “passionate”. According to Euro News, the main suspect is a teenager under the age of 15, which means he’s too young to be subject to criminal charges, according to Finnish law. Makes you wonder whether some FC Haka ultras put the lad up to this knowing he couldn’t be prosecuted for it if caught.
FC Haka chairman Marko Laaksonen said that the extent of financial damage to the club is expected to be major, but the exact number is yet to be calculated.
He said: “We certainly didn’t need this…We have already received a lot of support from people, and we will continue to need it in the future.”
Indeed, it does seem a little counter-productive. There must be other ways to express your frustration as an FC Haka fan, although it’s no doubt very frustrating to watch your team who once dominated the top division slip all the way down into the second tier of Finnish football. I guess the lesson is… don’t Finnish last. Hey yo!
