Female Activists Make A ‘Citizen’s Arrest’ On Anglian Water CEO Mark Thurston By Trapping Him In A Circle
Absolute scenes on the streets of Croydon in London this week as a group of female activists carried out a ‘citizen’s arrest’ on Anglian Water CEO Mark Thurston by holding hands and trapping him in a circle.
They charged him with three counts of public nuisance, focusing on environmental damage and illegal sewage spills. Watch below:
“I do understand that this is inconvenient for you, but I’m afraid the charge of public nuisance is very serious.”

Incredible. Imagine being arrested by a gang of Karens?
Activist Isobel Rock said: “I’m here to hold Mark Thurston to account for the crimes Anglian Water is committing everyday against our environment and pockets. These water companies are ignoring environmental protections and are focused on shareholder profit making over public safety or keeping bills affordable.”
Hear, hear! Unfortunately, dumping raw sewage and poisoning our water supplies might not actually be a crime in the eyes of the law, particularly when a multi-million pound corporation does it, and so it could be that these ladies have technically committed a crime themselves by essentially kidnapping Mark Thurston and stopping him from going to work.
British Transport Police said in a statement: “Officers were called to Coulsdon South railway station at around 7am today (Oct 15) following reports that a man wasn’t being allowed to travel by members of the public. Officers attended and the members of the public dispersed.”
Still, good on these ladies for the attempt, even if they do end up in court themselves over this. Someone has to hold these water CEOs to account as they simultaneously rob us blind while destroying the environment. A mild inconvenience for this absolute ghoul of a man compared to catastrophic levels of destruction he continues to carry out on the ecosystem.
Meanwhile, Thames Water Boss Chris Weston has awarded himself a £195,000 bonus after just three months in the job. Why do we allow these people to take the p1ss?
