Ex-QPR Goalkeeper Paddy Kenny Digs Up ‘Abusive’ DMs That Eni Aluko Sent Him
Ex-Sheffield United and QPR goalkeeker Paddy Kenny has called out ‘hypocrite’ Eni Aluko after Joey Barton received a suspended six-month prison sentence for ‘grossly offensive’ social media posts about her, claiming the football pundit had engaged in similar behaviour in his DM’s.
It all started when Paddy Kenny had Tweeted this in 2023 – referencing a comment Eni Aluko made about Pep Guardiolo and Mikel Arteta working together to facililate Declan Rice’s transfer to Arsenal that summer:
Never heard owt like it in my life 🙈 how does she get airtime?? Biggest load of bull I’ve ever heard 🙈🙈 https://t.co/dgpTSr7a4j

This prompted Aluko to send the following DMs to Paddy Kenny:

Paddy Kenny had actually shared these DM’s previously, but has done so again this week on X in the wake of Joey Barton’s sentencing:
Playing the victim but it’s ok to DM me these horrible messages 😱 imagine the other way around?? I’d have been in court with @Joey7Barton 🫣 pic.twitter.com/zta8Tbx7de

Kenny suggests that if he had sent those DM’s to Eni Aluko he would have been in big trouble, but the key difference is that Aluko sent those privately rather than try to shame and humiliate the guy in front of millions of people on social media, which is what Barton had been incessantly doing to her. So, in fairness, it’s not quite the same thing.
However, it’s still a bit lame that Aluko felt the need to DM him in the first place. I guess she can’t resist because she also sent this DM to another social media user who had also mocked her Declan Rice transfer theory:

As a professional pundit or just someone who’s in the public eye, it’s never a good idea to respond to trolls online, whether by DM or otherwise. Your messages will eventually be leaked out to the world, every time, guaranteed. That’s being famous 101!
Well anyway, hopefully the whole thing can die down a bit now that Joey Barton has been through the courts. For the hilarious moment at his trial where he thought the prosecutor had called him a “nonce”, click HERE. Too funny.
