Ex-Premier League Referee David Coote Charged With Making Indecent Child Video
Disgraced Premier League referee David Coote, who was sacked by the PGMOL in 2024 after a video of him doing cocaine and calling Jurgen Klopp a c*** went viral, has now been charged with making an indecent video of a child.
Coote, 43, is charged with making a Category A video – which is the worst kind. It means the video ‘contains images involving penetrative sexual activity, sexual activity with a child, animal or sadism’.
Now, Coote has been charged with “making” the video, which in the legal sense can be anything from actually videoing it to opening an attachment on WhatsApp with it in there. The term “making” covers distribution or possession as well as creation of the video, so even downloading it onto his device means he’s “made” another copy.
Which doesn’t change anything, because at the end of the day: David Coote was in possession of a video involving a child being sexually abused by an adult.

A statement released by Nottinghamshire Police said: “A suspect is due to appear in court after being charged with making an indecent image of a child.
“David Coote, aged 43, has been charged with the offence after an investigation by Nottinghamshire Police. The charge relates to a video file recovered by officers in February of this year.
“Coote, of Collingham, was charged on 12 August and is currently on conditional police bail. He is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court tomorrow 11 September.”
Initially when Coote was sacked for the coked-up viral video of him slagging off Jurgen Klopp, he gave an interview in which revealed he was gay, has self-esteem issues, was devastated about being sacked, and basically just trying to get everyone to feel sorry for him:
It actually worked: people did feel sorry for David Coote and urged the media and football world to leave him alone and let him get on with his life following a massive public humiliation and sacking. Well, it’s a little harder for to feel sorry for him now that he’s a convicted nonce, isn’t it?
VAR can’t save you now, matey…
