DoorDash Driver Accused Of Dousing Delivery Says She Was Trying To Pepper Spray A Spider
Police have arrested a DoorDash driver accused of spraying pepper spray on a customer’s food, causing them to choke and gasp for air after eating it.
The purple-haired DoorDash driver came up with the following excuse when questioned by cops: she was trying to pepper-spray a spider. Because it’s totally normal to use pepper spray on a spider outside a random person’s house after dropping off their food:

Kourtney Stevenson, 29, faces multiple felony charges after the customer fell sick from the meal.
DoorDash user Mark Cardin says his wife started choking and gasping after she started eating the food: “I noticed my wife had started eating and she started choking and gasping, and after she had a couple bites of her food she actually threw up.
“I had a look at the bag and seen that there was some kind of spray or something … So I pulled up my doorbell camera and seen that the lady who dropped the food off had actually tampered with it on purpose for some reason.”

Now I doubt that Mark’s wife had written “use pepper spray when dropping off” in the rider notes, so what exactly what this psycho thinking? My guess would be they did not tip her and this nut job thought pepper spraying their food would be an adequate response to that.
It does seem that American delivery drivers get particularly annoyed by lack of tips, but to endanger a customer because of it? All over a few bucks? It’s terrifying to think that there are people like this out there.
I suppose this is why a lot of delivery places use paper bags that they staple shut now. Unfortunately there’s real no vetting process and no way of knowing what delivery drivers might do with your food, and customers shouldn’t be so paranoid about it that they tip extra well just to make sure their food isn’t tampered with.
It’s the second awful bit of publicity for DoorDash in recent memory – with another rider also being arrested recently for filming a naked customer who had passed out on the couch. Yikes.
