Domestic Violence Suspect Leaps Over Wall, Breaks Back And Is Jailed Again
A Newport man who was arrested after being accused of domestic violence against his pregnant partner attempted to make a run for it, only to end up breaking his back and being taken right back to prison.
Dylan Harrison, 33, shouted ‘I’m not going back to jail’ as he bolted from a police van at Ystrad Mynach station in South Wales. Here’s how that panned out for him:

As per Metro, Harrison broke two bones in his lower back as he dropped from the wall, but in fairness, it did seem to being going to plan until that point. The way he managed to slip out of reach of the officers who were chasing him and use the police van to get up onto the wall was pretty impressive, especially while handcuffed.
Unfortunately for him he completely flubbed his descent on the other side of the wall, and is now not only back in jail, but also has a broken back and two added charges of escaping lawful custody and criminal damage. Whoops.
Gareth Williams, defending, said: ‘This was a stupid thing to do. He tried to get over a high wall and broke his lower back.
‘The benefit of all this was nothing.’
In the end, Judge Daniel Williams jailed Harrison for six months. He had previously been jailed for 67 months in 2017 for possession of guns.
He was cleared of the domestic violence allegations after the alleged victim failed to turn up at court, which makes the whole thing even dumber because it means he would be free now if he hadn’t tried to escape custody. What an idiot
