Dad Who Lied About Shining Laser At Police Helicopter Says ‘I’m F****d’ As Cops Find Laser Under Sofa

A dimwitted dad from Durham who lied about shining a laser at a police helicopter provided a hilarious clip in his arrest video by uttering “Oh I’m f****d” after cops found the laser under his sofa. Great hiding place, mate.

The National Police Air Service (NPAS) chopper was flying over County Durham in search of a missing person when a laser was beamed into the cockpit. Footage from the aircraft clearly showed Colin Quinn, 44, was responsible, as he was stood outside his front door with the laser before darting back inside when he realised they’d clocked him.

Even still, he tried to claim he had been in the house watching TV with the family. Here’s how that panned out:

One officers say: “You’re a bit old to be shining lasers at a helicopter?” Quinn replies: “Exactly right, mate. I’ve got better things to do mate.”

He invites officers to search the house and sure enough, one of them lifts up a cushion and finds the laser underneath. Pure cinema.

In the end, Quinn admitted recklessly or negligently acting in a manner likely to endanger an aircraft or a person in an aircraft. He was jailed for four months at Durham Crown Court and ordered to pay £154 in court costs.

You would think that a 44-year-old father would know better than to shine a laser into the cockpit of a helicopter, but I guess we are dealing with the type of person who would then hide said laser under a cushion and insist he didn’t do anything wrong even though he was caught red-handed.

Although in fairness, maybe you wouldn’t think that these helicopters have such good cameras on them? Lesson learned.
