Cyclist Is Poleaxed After Failing To Spot Bright Yellow Barrier As He Zoomed Down Hill

If you’ve been on the internet at all in the last few years you’ve probably seen that compilation of three cyclists obliterating themselves by riding into a barrier in Sheffield, somehow failing to spot it completely.

Since then, the council painted the barrier bright yellow to ensure no cyclist can miss it. It was working quite well… until recently when the barrier claimed its 4th victim:

Ouch. Definitely a couple broken ribs there. What could possibly be this cyclist’s excuse for not seeing the bright yellow barrier in his path as he zoomed down the hill? It’s already a notorious path in Sheffield owing to the annihilation of cyclists who had made the same mistake previously, but OK, maybe he hadn’t seen those videos. A big bright yellow barrier that you can spot a mile off though? You have to be in full daydream mode to miss that.

What would be extra funny is if it was one of the same cyclists who rode into it previously. If so, give that yellow barrier a purple plaque. Well deserved.
