Cristiano Ronaldo Has Officially Proposed To His Long-Term Girlfriend And The Ring Is Absolutely Enormous

Congratulations are in order for Cristiano Ronaldo and his girlfriend of 8 years, who he met one fateful day in 2017 at the Gucci store where she worked at (naturally).

Ronaldo has finally got on one knee and popped the question to the lovely Georgia Rodriguez, and you have to imagine she couldn’t say ‘Yes’ fast enough…

Now I don’t know if Ronaldo added a few extra mm on the ring for every year the two have been together, but oh my days that is the biggest and shiniest engagement ring I’ve ever seen. Isn’t an engagement ring supposed to be 3 months of your salary? Can’t even begin to imagine how much he forked out for it, although it’s obviously pocket change to one of the most highly-paid athletes in sporting history.

I’m sure there are some people out there who will call a ring of that size ‘ugly’ and ‘tacky’ and whatnot, but those people could only dream of being able to afford that ring in the first place. OK, I can see how it might be a bit difficult to wear it around everywhere, but I’m guessing Ronaldo and his family have some of the finest security detail around them at all times, and in a place like Saudi Arabia where they currently reside, they probably couldn’t be any safer if they tried.

Part of me does wish Ronaldo got her a small ring, though, just to see how she would react? I mean, not to sound cynical but I hope he’s got an iron-clad prenup set up. You just never know how these things can turn out. I’ve got a feeling they’ll be just fine, though. Congrats to the happy couple!
