Conor McGregor Announces He Is No Longer Running For President Of Ireland
Conor McGregor has officially withdrawn from the Irish presidency race after someone finally managed to explain to him how the process works, and that he would have no chance of even being nominated and put into the ballot.
McGregor said the decision to withdraw his name had come “following careful reflection, and after consulting with my family”, but really it’s because he needed 20 Irish MPs to nominate him, which was never going to happen.
Even if he did manage to convince 20 Irish MPs to nominate him, he would then have had to secure the majority vote in the election itself, which again, was never going to happen.
His withdrawal came hours before he was due to address meetings of Dublin City Council and Kildare County Council this week, which means he pulled out literally the moment he had to do any actual work in asking for nominations.
Conor McGregor’s plan was to rile up enough idiots on Twitter/X to generate a huge movement that would see the Irish constitution altered so that he could get on the ballot, or at least have himself included without going through the same process as everyone else. Which probably seems like a plausible scenario when you’re coked out of your bonce at 3am and being gassed up by supporters on X who aren’t even Irish and can’t vote for you anyway.
In the end, he thought millions of people would get behind his MAGA MIGA stance and help him bulldoze his way into the Presidency, but ultimately he bottled it and tapped out when it became clear that he would actually have to convince 20 Irish MPs to nominate him. No assistant, no advisor, no AI, no Elon Musk in his corner, just Conor McGregor and his coke-addled brain.
Or maybe it was all for attention and he never he never really stood a chance? Who knows. Apparently he’s back in the UFC’s drug-testing pool and is keen to fight at the UFC’s big event at the White House in 2026, so hopefully we’ll see him back to what he does best. Or did best, anyway.
