Chris Eubank Jr Slammed For Interrupting Ricky Hatton Tribute At Press Conference

Chris Eubank Jr is catching some flak after refusing to let Eddie Hearn pay tribute to the late, great Ricky Hatton at a press conference hyping the Eubank Jr/Conor Benn rematch next month.

If you’ve been following Eubank Jr’s long-running beef with Hearn, you’ll know that he’s pledged to keep interrupting the promoter any time he opens his mouth in the same room as him. Looks like this also extends to when Hearn is trying to say a few words about the passing of one of British boxing’s greatest legends:

Hearn began: ‘Just firstly, 30 seconds on Ricky Hatton

Eubank Jr interrupted: ‘Come on Eddie, there’s no 30 seconds. You know the drill.’

Hearn: ‘All I was going to do was say a few words about Ricky Hatton. You’re an a**hole, you talk shit, you’ll get what’s coming to you.’

Eubank Jr: ‘I’m not going to sit here and listen to anything you say. I don’t want to hear any of your words. Let’s move on with the press conference, we know the drill.’

Now it’s anyone’s guess whether Eddie Hearn was sincerely trying to pay his respects to Hatton or whether he very cleverly tried to use Hatton’s name to keep Eubank Jr from interrupting, but clearly Eubank Jr believes it’s the latter. He’s been doing this to Eddie Hearn for the last 3 press conferences they’ve done together; he simply does not want to listen the man speak and would rather he and Conor Benn get all the mic time.

Here’s what Eubank Jr had to say in response to the backlash he’s been receiving:

Eubank Jr and Benn go head-to-head again on November 15 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in north London. Who you got?
