Charlie Kirk Dead Aged 31 After Being Shot At 'Prove Me Wrong' Event On University Campus

Conservative activist and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk has died aged 31 after being shot in the neck while speaking at a ‘Prove Me Wrong’ event hosted by Utah Valley University.

For anyone who’s seen the footage, it’s plain to see that the injury he sustained was completely unsurvivable. Donald Trump has now confirmed that Charlie Kirk passed away:

“The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!”

He added that US flags would be flown at half mast, writing: “In honour of Charlie Kirk, a truly Great American Patriot, I am ordering all American Flags throughout the United States lowered to Half Mast until Sunday evening at 6 P.M.”

The footage of the shooting is easy enough to find online, but we’re not going to post it here. There was also footage of an old man being hauled away from the area with his pants down and saying he had the “right to remain silent”, but it turns out he wasn’t the shooter, and has been released without charge. A second man was also detailed and later released without charge.

The fatal shot was fired from a nearby building, reportedly the rooftop of the campus’s Losee Center. This means it was a precise shot from approximately 200 feet (60 metres) or 200 yards away – most likely the work of a skilled professional rather than some student he p1ssed off with his trans view, or something.

Police dispatch audio and official reports describe a person of interest as wearing all-black tactical gear, including a helmet, mask, aviator-style glasses, and carrying a long-nosed gun.

Currently, the shooter remains at large. Conspiracy theories are already flying around social media as are reactions ranging from joy and jubilation to anger and devastation. Charlie Kirk was an extremely polarising figure who said some objectively heartless things in his time (particularly pertaining to gun violence), but at the end of the day, he was a young man with a wife and kids.
