Brit Gym Boss Who Faked His Death To Flee To Spain Found Hanging Upside Down On The Beach

A British gym boss who faked his death and fled to Spain after raping two women he met on Tinder and Bumble was found hanging upside down on the exercise equipment at a beach in the Costa del Sol.

Here’s the moment a team of undercover officers caught up to him:

James Clacher, 57, committed the sexual assaults in 2019 and 2020 before faking his death and fleeing abroad. He was facing two rape charges when he fled Airdrie, Lanarkshire and was last seen on May 30, 2022.

After he was reported missing, his clothes were found in a Suzuki Swift car in the Loch Long car park and picnic area in Arrochar, Argyll the following day. He left a suicide note that said he was going to take his own life.

In the note, he played the victim and said his first victim “will never stop until I’m dead or I’m in prison.”

In the end, a Sky News reader tipped off Police Scotland and Clacher was tracked down to the Spanish town of Nerja on the Costa del Sol. He was using the alias ‘Johnny Wilson’ and worked as a gardener at a residential complex. He was also making money on the side by running yoga classes on the beach.

After being busted mid-workout routine, Clacher was extradited to the UK and on the flight home told an officer that his initial time on the run saw him survive on “berries and puddle water.” Wow, cool story pal.

During the trial, the court also heard that Clacher had taken 10 years off his age on Tinder and Bumble, lied about when his brother died and lied about his surname. So yeah, sounds like this guy is a total fantasist and bullsh1tter, as well as a rapist. Let’s hope they throw the book at him.

The jury found Clacher guilty on two counts of rape -he will be sentenced on October 1.
