Anthony Joshua To Fight Jake Paul On Netflix With December Showdown ‘Almost Finalised’

According to Ring Magazine, Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul are close to agreeing a deal to fight in Miami for Netflix this December.

Jake Paul was set to fight lightweight world champion Gervonta Davis on 14 November, but the bout was cancelled after Davis was accused of kidnapping and battery in a civil lawsuit.

That fight would have been another in a series of unserious fights for Jake Paul, given that Davis is 5ft 5 and 130lbs (compared to Paul’s 6ft 1 and 200lbs), so I’m actually shocked that Jake Paul would now agree to fight 6ft 6, 250lbs, two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua instead.

In fact I find it difficult to believe this fight is happening until it’s officially announced, even though reputable boxing sources are reporting that it’s all but done.

Previously on a podcast, Paul had assured that he’s got what it takes to knock Joshua out:

Paul said: “I want to fight Anthony Joshua because I know I will f****** beat Anthony Joshua’s a**e.

“He doesn’t have a chin, and he has no skill and he is stiff.

“I love you Anthony, and we are friends. But I want to fight you.”

It would be truly amazing to see what Anthony Joshua would do to Jake Paul in the ring, so here’s hoping they manage to get it done and this isn’t just a Jake Paul PR stunt. Just imagine the PPV numbers from everyone who would tune in to watch Paul finally get KO’d.

If the fight does actually go ahead, credit to Jake Paul for having the balls to step up and take on a fighter who isn’t an OAP, a tomato can or someone half his size. But come on, surely he’s dreaming if he thinks he stands a chance. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
