American Couple Accused Of Racist Assault At Bond Street ‘No Longer In UK’

The two Americans who racially abused and ‘pepper sprayed’ a woman outside Bond Street station in London left the country days after the incident, well before British Transport Police bothered to make an appeal for information.

The internet identified MAGA supporter and PR executive Melissa Rein Lively, 40, and venture capitalist Philipp Ostermann within hours of BTP putting their photos online, but by then it had already been a month since the incident took place on October 11 2025, and so the pair were obviously long gone.

In an update to their appeal, a British Transport Police (BTP) spokesman said: ‘Officers completed a number of enquiries in an attempt to identify the man and woman after the incident was reported to police, followed by a media appeal that generated a significant response.

‘From enquiries so far, we believe that the man and woman do not reside in the UK.

‘Officers believe the man left the UK on Tuesday 14th October and the woman on Friday 24th October, before our media appeal was published.

‘We continue efforts to make contact with and speak to them, and from there we will determine the next steps in the investigation.’

Lol. There’s no way these two are going to bother getting in touch with British police, especially if they’re guilty, so probably best to just stick them on a no-entry list and call it a day. Not that they would want to return to the UK, given they’re both wanted and all. Then again, if they really wanted to come back, they could always just jump on a dinghy?

In the end, it’s a terrible look for British Transport Police who failed to capture two racists whose biometric data would have been on file from passport control and who r/London subreddit identified in no time at all. That the police in the most surveilled city on earth don’t know how to run a TinEye search is simply mind boggling. A bunch of nerds on Reddit had to do their job for them!

Well anyway, I guess there are more pressing issues for the police to deal with. Surely if this man had stabbed someone instead of (pretended to) pepper-spray them, they would have nabbed him before he left the country? We bloody well hope so.
