Macaulay Culkin Has An A+ Idea For A Home Alone Legacy Sequel
Sequels that take place 20+ years later are almost always awful, but if there had to be a Home Alone sequel in 2025, Macaulay Culkin may have just come up with the perfect plot for it.
Culkin AKA Kevin McCallister pitched the following idea in an interview with Variety:
“I’m either a widower or a divorcee. I’m raising a kid…. I’m not really paying enough attention & the kid is kind of getting miffed at me & then I get locked out.
My son won’t let me in… and he’s the one setting traps for me. The house is some sort of metaphor for our relationship”

I mean, who wouldn’t watch that? 100% sold. Just as long as Joe Pesci comes out of retirement for it as well. Maybe the Wet Bandits could now be reformed criminals who run a locksmith business and help Kevin get back into the house? Or at least attempt to, as Kevin’s son demolishes them with weapons and booby traps.
Furthermore – is Kevin now living in the original Home Alone house that his parents paid for? Or is he living a normal, sad divorced dad life in a smaller home with his only child? Seems like it would need to be a big home for the movie to work, but then a house like that is way too oversized for just two people, isn’t it?
Well anyway, I’m sure they’ll figure it out if they ever decide to green-light it. For now, we’ll have to re-watch the classics this Christmas.
