Watch Dealer Killed Himself After He Was Accused Of ‘Not Putting Up A Fight’ In Robbery

A watch salesman took his own life after being accused of ‘not putting up enough of a fight’ against robbers who grabbed a haul of luxury watches worth £1.1million from his shop, a court heard.

Oliver White, 27, was found dead in woodland near his home in Surrey, less than a day after footage of two men robbing him of several watches at ‘247 Kettles’  in south London went viral in May last year:

The items were not insured, and even if they were, these scumbags took so many watches that the insurance would have been a pittance. Oliver offered to compensate the owners of the shop with £14,000 he had been saving up for a deposit on a flat with his girlfriend Alana Dredge, and sure enough, he sent that money over before taking his own life.

Jurors heard that White was ‘devastated’ when his friends, the two owners, suggested that he did not put up ‘enough of a fight’ during the robbery. Which is a hell of a thing to say to someone who’s had to go through that ordeal on his own. What was he meant to do – fight two men on his own and end up being seriously injured, or worse?

Businessman Mannix Pedro, 38, helped plan the raid and supplied a stolen Audi used as a getaway car. He has already been tried and convicted of conspiracy to rob.

The two men in the video, Kyle Mehmet, 40, and Junior Kunu, 31, are currently still on trial. Let’s hope justice is served.
